Pain Control

One of the earliest uses of hypnotherapy was for pain control. It has been proved to be an effective tool in the management of pain, and pain perception, and has even been used in surgery. Christine will teach you methods of deep relaxation and detaching yourself from the pain. Hypnosis has also been shown to help in healing by lessening the amount of inflammatory reaction to an injury. See Hypnosis in Pain Management for a detailed study (PDF document). Pain is your body's warning system, so it is important to consult your doctor to find the cause of the pain before using any kind of pain relief.

Hypnotherapy for Childbirth

Childbirth is a natural process and hypnosis is a natural form of deep relaxation which can help you to prepare for and experience the birth of your child free from fear and anxiety. Freedom from fear can make a huge difference in your birthing experience. You can learn simple but very effective methods of self-hypnosis and natural anaesthesia.

Physical, Emotional and Sexual Abuse

Christine has undertaken special training in helping the survivors of abuse in childhood. If this happened to you she can help you to overcome the effects of the past in your life now. All childhood abuse leaves deep emotional scars. Your young mind is likely to have accepted ideas about yourself that are entirely untrue - that you are a bad person, or worth less than others, or deserve punishment. Or perhaps you must work extra hard to justify your existence. Emotional Freedom techniques (EFT) can be particularly helpful in dealing with painful memories, and Christine will use a combination of hypnotherapy approaches to unlock those destructive thoughts and feelings so that you can be free to get on with your life.

Eating Disorders

While teenagers in the grip of acute anorexia should be under medical care, people coping with chronic anorexia and bulimia and other food issues can be helped by hypno-analysis to address the underlying emotional causes. Christine will focus on helping you to feel better about yourself, and more in control of your life, by addressing the anxiety and self-esteem issues at the root of the disorder.

Anger Management

Anger is a normal human reaction, but when it gets out of control it can lead to problems in personal relationships, health, work and social situations. Christine uses NLP, EFT, visualisation and suggestion, as well as hypno-analysis, to help you change the way you let daily events affect you.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

PTSD is an anxiety disorder that can develop after a terrifying event or ordeal. People with PTSD have persistent frightening thoughts and memories. They may feel emotionally numb, have nightmares or flashbacks, and have sleep problems. Hypnotherapy, EFT and NLP can help you to recover and get back to your normal life. More...
